Road Ditching

Road ditching is done as needed and determined by the Highway Superintendent. Field ditches are cleaned when access to them is obtained from property owners and agreed upon with the Town Ditching Committee (see town committees). If the ditch travels through more than one property owner's land, permission must be obtained for all parcels impacted.

Metal Pickup

Metal pickup is done twice annually. All metal goods should be by the roadside before the start of the day. The first date is usually in May. The second date is usually in September. These take a few days to complete. These dates area advertised in the local papers. We begin on Monday morning and continue until the town is picked up once. We DO NOT go back if you put your metal out after your road has been done.

Tire Drop Off

Tire drop off is in April. Tires are to be dropped off at the Highway garage between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Please bring your card to be punched. This card can be obtained through the Town Clerks office at the Town Hall. You are entitled to drop off 6 tires and your card is good through 2010
