The Plateau Remediation Contract focuses on the safe, environmental cleanup of the Central Plateau of the Hanford Site, in alignment with the Department of Energy cleanup mission.
CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company will lead the 10-year, $4.5 billion effort. In partnership with its workforce, regulators, and interested parties, the company will work to eliminate risks and protect the Columbia River. The contract scope of work includes:
- 100-K Area remediation, sludge treatment, and reactor interim safe storage
- Groundwater/vadose zone remediation project
- Groundwater, soil, and facility regulatory decision/other documents
- Plutonium Finishing Plant (PFP) closure
- Facility, waste site, and canyon remediation
- Waste retrieval, treatment and disposal, and fuels management
- Fast Flux Test Facility near-term shutdown activities
- Facility and waste site minimum-safe/surveillance and maintenance (S&M)
