Former GM Plant Celebrates Ribbon Cutting As Part Of Tinker Aerospace Complex

August 18, 2009 -- The former General Motors Assembly Plant in Oklahoma City is officially part of the Tinker Aerospace Complex following a ribbon cutting ceremony held by federal and state officials, including the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.

The former plant will house workers repairing and maintaining engines from Air Force and Navy aircraft such as the TF33 and the F-117. The facility will house operations for the 76th Maintenance Wing and other defense missions.

New Survey Ranks Tulsa 8th among Least Expensive Cities for Data Centers

August 5, 2009 -- Searchdatacenter.com ranks Tulsa as the 8th least expensive city in the country for data centers.

The website says the estimated annual operating cost in Tulsa would be $10,452,228.

CE Aerospace Selects Oklahoma

Company Will Manufacture Jet Engine Stands; Employ 100 in Roland Facility

June 24, 2009 -- C.E. Aerospace today announced plans to open a jet engine stand manufacturing facility in Roland, OK. Cal Edwards, owner of CE Aerospace, said the new company will have about 100 employees with an average annual salary of more than $30,000. The company is relocating from Ft. Smith, Arkansas in order to expand its production capability and staff.

"In Roland, C.E. Aerospace will have plenty of room to expand and to service, design and manufacture high quality ground support equipment for the transportation, maintenance, and assembly of turbine powered aircraft," Edwards said. "By using our experienced engineering talents and a committed manufacturing force, we serve the needs of airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and aircraft maintenance facilities."

June 8, 2009 -- The annual North America Cities of the Future report published by  lists Oklahoma City as the most cost effective large city in the United States and the third most cost effective city in North America.

In the small city category, Tulsa ranked No. 8 as a "city of the future."

Attendees Plan to Showcase Oklahoma's Flourishing Life Sciences Community

May 20, 2009 -- Over 60 Oklahomans will take the floor of the Georgia World Congress Center this week, providing a big presence for the state at one of the world's largest industry networking events, the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) 2009 trade show, according to The Oklahoman.

Those in attendance will be seeking to connect with potential business partners, clients and investors among the anticipated 20,000 people at the annual BIO convention.

April 20, 2009 -- 4 Oklahoma companies have again made the latest Fortune 500 list.

Tulsa-based ONEOK with $16.1 billion in revenue came in at No. 159.

Oklahoma City-based Devon Energy comes in at No. 163, improving over 50 spots from last year’s finish at No. 221.
