Tim Kennedy was appointed to the Erie County Legislature to represent the Second District in December 2004 and successfully won reelection in November 2005. Throughout his first term in County Hall, Tim Kennedy has distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished and finest leaders in county government.

Tim entered his role as legislator during what was Erie County government's lowest point. As a freshman legislator, Tim was cast into Erie County's fiscal crisis where his life education and experiences would navigate him to make necessary vital decisions to advance this region toward prosperity. His first months were a true testament to his leadership and ability to justly represent the residents of the Second District and Erie County as a whole.

As a legislator, Tim has held many committee roles which include his current roles as Chairman of Economic Development, Vice-Chairman of Public Safety and a senior member of Government Affairs.

During his tenure as a county lawmaker, Tim has advocated for many issues encompassing economic development, public safety and fiscal accountability. He has championed issues that include waterfront development, NYPA $279 million settlement, the worker-training apprenticeship law, the removal of the I-190 toll-barriers, industrial development agency reform, framework for regional growth, securing funding to renovate School #84 and many other initiatives.

Tim has focused on Public Safety issues such as reinvesting into the county's 9-1-1 emergency system, protection against sex offenders, keeping St. Joseph Hospital open, increased number of probation officers and sheriff's deputies, and reestablishing Primetime funds for community center youth programs.

Perhaps his greatest accomplishment is the passion and fresh ideas Tim brings to his position, working hard every day to ensure Erie County continues to work toward fiscal prosperity. His efforts in this capacity include county charter revisions, sharing sales tax revenue with municipalities, cost saving-environmental friendly legislation, challenging flawed fiscal policies, eliminating waste and patronage from budget and much more.

Tim is a lifelong resident of South Buffalo where he and his family currently reside. He is a 1999 graduate of D'Youville College, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Legislator Kennedy's district office is located in South Buffalo at 1928 South Park Avenue and can be reached via phone at 824-6180.
