Health is a cornerstone to vitality for people of all ages, but is increasingly important for seniors. Please browse the topics listed here, and if you have any further questions and concerns relating to health, call our Information and Assistance Number 858-8526. We maintain files of helpful information that might be of assistance to you - things like Health Clinics, Influenza Immunization Schedules during the season, information about hearing aids, vision services, PERS providers, home care options,and much, much more. Often health issues cause people to give up driving - visit our Transportation information to find some alternatives that may assist you, or if you need help getting to doctors appointments, etc.

The Department's Wise & Well program offers information about many topics that are related to all aspects of healthy living, and may be available to speak to groups and organizations.

Health reasons often require someone to help others - Please visit our Caregiving page for much more information related to caregiving, support groups, and respite services. Our Adult Protective Services Unit strives to eliminate the abuse of older adults throughout the community, whether it be physical abuse, sexual abuse, mental abuse or financial exploitation.

Senior Vision Services: Provides assessment, counseling and assistance to families and elderly individuals to cope with vision loss. Can also supply adaptive equipment. Contact the Elizabeth Pierce Olmsted, M.D. Center for the Visually Impaired at 882-1025.
