Major Legislative Record

  • Initiated the Charter Review Commission to bring about reforms and fiscal stability
  • Sponsored the Local Law to have the administration submit Budget Monitoring Reports, a pre-election release of the Budget, and multi-year projections.
  • Supports the Re-engineering of Human Services and other delivery systems.
  • Strengthened the whistleblower policy and sponsored laws that furthered the government's check and balances systems.
  • Voted against excessive borrowing in 2003, opposed the proposed pay raises for elected officials in 2004, and voted to cut approximately $60 million from the 2005 budget.
  • Led the efforts that created a Management and Restoration Plan for Buffalo's Olmsted Parks.
