The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) was founded by the Society of
Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) in 1991. GCF’s mission, in concert with SGO, is
to support research, education and public awareness of gynecologic cancer
prevention, early detection and optimal treatment.
GCF is proud to introduce the
Gynecologic
Oncologist Awareness Campaign. Recently accumulated
research shows that women diagnosed with a reproductive
cancer, especially ovarian and uterine (endometrial) cancers,
experience improved outcomes when treated first by a
gynecologic oncologist. Gynecologic oncologists are
physicians specially trained to provide comprehensive
treatment of women with cancer. Please call
800.444.4441 or visit the
Women's
Cancer Network to find a gynecologic
oncologist near you.

GCF Surgeons Raise Awareness through Rock
They're six doctors you hope to never meet in a hospital, yet you could have a
great time rocking out to their music. By profession, they are gynecologic
oncologists charged with guiding women (and their families) through gynecologic
cancer diagnosis and treatment and—hopefully—to a cure. With each case,
their highest hope is to deliver the sweetest words a cancer patient can hear:
"No Evidence of Disease."
