Office Hours and Location

The Consular Section is located in the “La Esperilla” section of Santo Domingo, on the corner of César Nicolás Penson Street and Máximo Gómez Avenue. The American Citizens Services (ACS) Unit is closed on all Dominican and American holidays, as well as on Administrative Days.  The building is accessible to the disabled.  General office hours are 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday, and 7:30am - 11:30pm on Friday.  Our working hours for specific services are listed below.

Passport Services:
Passport interviews are by appointment only.  Please click on the following link to make your online appointment.

To see if you are eligible to use our renewal drop-off program, visit our passport website.

Report of Birth Services:
Pick up an information and application packet at Window 26, outside the Consular building on Ave. Maximo Gomez, Monday through Thursday, 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm.

Notarial Services:
Drop off documents for notarization on Monday or Thursday, 11:00 am - 11:30 am at Window 26, outside the Consular building on Ave. Maximo Gomez.   Applicants return at 2:00 p.m. the same day and enter the Consular Section to pay the notarial fees and pick up the notarized documents.

General Information and Pending Document Drop-off:
Get general information and drop off documents pending for existing cases at Window 26, outside the Consular building on Ave. Maximo Gomez, Monday through Thursday, 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm.

Emergency Services:
Come to the main entry of the Consular section.
Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am. - 4:00 pm
Friday, 7:30 am  - 11:30 am.

After Hours:
Please call (809) 221-2171 and request to speak to the Duty Officer

Federal Benefits Services
Federal benefits services are provided by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment, call 809-731-4371, Monday through Thursday, 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm or Friday 7:30 am - 11:00 am.  When you call for your appointment, you may find that a federal benefits representative can solve your problem over the phone - which might save you a trip to the Consular section.
