Proposed Rule
3501 and 3502 – Recordkeeping and Idling Requirements for Locomotives
Staff will provide an update and summary of Proposed Rules 3501 and
3502. Proposed Rules 3501 and 3502 apply to
Class I freight railroads
and switching and terminal railroads. Proposed Rule 3501 and 3502
establish recordkeeping and idling requirements for diesel locomotives
operating in the district. |

Overview of
the MSRC Freeway Service Patrol Program
The presentation will explore the nexus between Freeway Service
Patrols (FSP), a congestion mitigation strategy, and reductions in
vehicular exhaust emissions. Quantified emission reductions based upon
actual South Coast FSP deployments will be presented, as well as the
relative cost-effectiveness of funding FSP projects as a motor vehicle
reduction strategy. |
