2009

  • 8/10/2009 - The Quebec version of FMS has been released internally.

2008

  • 7/30/2008 - The Perth version of FMS has been released internally.

2007

  • 8/15/2007 - The Omsk version of FMS has been released internally.
  • 3/19/2007 - The Nalanda version of FMS has been released internally.
  • 01/04/2007 - The latest code which has been thoroughly tested has been tagged as memphis_2006_12.
    Replacing memphis with memphis_2006_12 in your CVS checkouts will result in code that contains all the approved modifications made since the memphis release, and most of the modifications planned for the next release.

2006

  • 11/06/2006 - Information about F-group transition testing is available to GFDL users through our internal web server. This page details the configurations of compilers and operating systems that have been tested on a model-by-model basis.
  • 3/31/2006 - The Memphis version of FMS has been released internally.

2005

  • 5/18/2005 - The Lima version of HIM, the Hallberg Isopycnal Model, has been released publicly. It is available for public download at our Gforge server.
  • 5/13/2005 - The mom4p0d version of MOM4 has been released publicly. It is available for public download at our Gforge server.
  • 4/18/2005 - The Lima version of FMS has been released internally.
  • 2/18/2005 - The Khartoum version of AM2 has been released publicly. It is available for public download at our Gforge server.

2004

  • 9/29/2004 - The Khartoum version of FMS has been released internally.
  • 8/25/2004 - The mom4p0c version of MOM4 has been released publicly. It is available for public download at our Gforge server.

2003

  • 10/31/2003 - The Jakarta version of FMS has been released internally. The atmospheric dynamical cores are available for public download at our Gforge server
  • 4/9/2003 - The Inchon version of FMS has been released internally.

2002

  • 10/21/2002 - The "Havana" version of FMS has been released to the public. Havana is the second public release of the infrastructure source code for FMS, the Flexible Modeling System. For the purpose of illustrating the infrastructure code, a coupled example model and two solo atmospheric example models have been included. To get started with FMS, please see the Havana Users' Guide.
  • 7/16/2002 - The Havana version of FMS has been released internally.
  • 4/25/2002 - The beta version of MOM4 has been released. For more information, please see the Ocean Modeling page.
  • 4/4/2002 - Please try out the improved Source Doc Index.
  • 3/28/2002 - We would like to announce "Galway", the first public release of the infrastructure source code for FMS, the Flexible Modeling System. For the purpose of illustrating the infrastructure code, a coupled example model and two solo atmospheric example models have been included.   • 2/26/2002 - The Galway version of FMS has been released internally.

2001

  • 10/29/2001 - The Fez version of FMS has been released internally.
  • 9/7/2001 - Bugfixes for the eugene version of FMS have been released, as well as eugene_new_mpp, which is an intermediate release containing the code updates necessary for the modified mpp_domains interfaces. We have a new version of the quickstart guide for AM2. The tentative date for the (internal) fez release is October 11. Internal tasks for the public release have been posted.

  • 7/6/2001 - The Eugene version of FMS has been released.
