Tribal Energy

Through 2006, DOE funded 76 competitive awards worth $12.4 million under the Tribal Energy Program; Indian tribal governments gave $3.6 million to these projects.

The Tribal Energy Program offers financial and technical assistance to Indian tribes to help them create sustainable renewable energy installations on their lands. This program promotes tribal energy self-sufficiency and fosters employment and economic development on America's tribal lands. For more information, see the Tribal Energy Program Web site.
