USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center (CERC) scientists conduct interdisciplinary research on the Missouri River to provide resource managers information needed to manage the Missouri River ecosystem. They investigate physiology, behavior, and habitat dynamics to understand the life cycles of birds, invertebrates, and fish, including the endangered pallid sturgeon and the invasive Asian carp. These are interdisciplinary studies involving collaboration with other Branches within CERC, other USGS disciplines, Federal and State agencies, academia, and non-governmental organizations.
