Geochemical Mapping Surveys

Dr. Karol Marsina
Geological Survey of the Slovak Republic
Room 618, NIST North
June 24, 2004, 2:00pm

Dr. Karol Marsina is the Director of the Environmental Geology Division at the Geological Survey of the Slovak Republic. He has been responsible for national and regional environmental-geochemical mapping programs in the Slovak Republic, and has recently been named to head a European effort in this area. He is interested in relating results of the Slovak surveys to those of the European geochemical reference network and the United States Geological Survey geochemical database. Possible matters of discussion include graphical issues in mapping geographical/geologic data, spatial sampling, and the comparison and aggregation of data across different databases.
