General Data Description

The Mesoscale Analysis and Prediction System (MAPS) refers to previous development versions of the RUC (Rapdi Updated Cycle). This version of MAPS was based on a grid cell of 60 km.

Measurement Description

For each latitude, longitude and altitude:

x and y component of wind (meters/second)
relative humidity (unitless fraction)
temperature (kelvin)
height above mean sea level (meters)
pressure of constant pressure surface (hectopascals)

Area Covered

The "allmaps" data stream covers the lower 48 United States and adjacent areas of Canada, Mexico, and oceanic areas; the maps subset covers an area over the SGP site.
