David M. Marquis
is the Executive Director (ED) of NCUA. As ED, he is responsible for the day to
day operation of the federal agency that charters and supervises the nation’s federal
credit unions and insures the vast majority of credit union member deposits.
Prior to being named NCUA Executive Director (effective January 1, 2009), Marquis
also served as Director of the Office of Examination and Insurance (E&I). As Director
of E&I, he was responsible for the safe and sound operation of the National Credit
Union Share Insurance Fund and monitoring the examination and supervision procedures
at federal and federally insured credit unions.
He has also served as a supervisory examiner, regional manager, associate regional
director, Deputy Director of the Office of Examination and Insurance and regional
director. Marquis began his career with NCUA as an examiner in Baltimore, Maryland
in 1978. Mr. Marquis holds a degree in accounting from Lowell University in Lowell,
Massachusetts.
Larry graduated from Lewis
University with a degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Management Accountant
(CMA) and has a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from George Washington
University. Mr. Fazio joined NCUA in 1991 as an Examiner in Chicago.
During his career with NCUA, Larry has served as a Supervision Analyst, a Supervisory
Examiner in Detroit, the Director of Supervision in the Chicago regional office,
the Director of Risk Management in the Office of Examination and Insurance, and
the Deputy Director of the Office of Examination and Insurance. In March of
2008, Larry was selected as NCUA’s Deputy Executive Director. He is
responsible for assisting the Executive Director, as the agency’s administrative
head, in carrying out all responsibilities for operating the agency and meeting
its mission.
The Office of the Executive Director is responsible for the agency's daily operation
and the executive director reports directly to the NCUA Chairman. All regional and
central office directors report to the executive director. NCUA’s Equal Opportunity
Program is included in this office.
