Accounting and Reporting Directive

No. 288
Issue Date: 12/8/08
Effective Date: Immediately
Parts: 217, 234, 241, and 298

This Accounting and Reporting Directive reminds carriers that they can meet their reporting obligation to submit financial, traffic and operating statistical reports to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) by transmitting their files via e-mail until BTS establishes an e-filing system over the internet.

Attaching records to e-mails should save the carriers mailing costs and from having to print large number of pages, especially for their Schedule B-7 Airframe and Aircraft Engines Acquisitions and Retirements and Schedule B-43 Inventory of Airframes and Aircraft Engines.  For those carriers electing to submit Schedules B-7 or B-43 via electronic means, BTS has added columns to identify owned, capitalized, operating leases, and nonoperating equipment. B-7 and B-43 submissions would be e-mailed to F41financials.support@dot.gov

The e-mail accounts for submitting the various reports are:

T-100.support@dot.gov
T-100f.support@dot.gov
Ontime.support@dot.gov
Odsurvey.support@dot.gov
F41financials.support@dot.gov
298c.support@dot.gov
Form251.support@dot.gov
