Rad joined ORNL as a postdoctoral fellow in the Metals and Ceramics Division under Thomas Zacharia in 1993 and became a staff member in 1994. He moved to the Computer Science and Mathematics Division in 1999. Rad's research at ORNL is mainly focussed on the modeling of microstructural evolution in materials.
