Extradtion/Transportation
Extradition/Transportation Section is responsible for the processing and dissemination of data regarding matters of fugitive extradition and the transportation of prisoners from within and outside the State of New Mexico. A sergeant and seven deputies compliment this section. On occasion, staff also pursue and arrest subjects who have outstanding warrants for arrest.
The Extradition/Transportation Unit also assisted in joint efforts along with other local agencies in several projects such as: Providing security at the Bosque during the Fires, APD's Tactical DWI Checkpoints, riot control at UNM during the demonstration of opposition to the war, the movement of inmates to the new Metropolitan Detention Center. Deputies also helped with several Warrant Tactical Operational Plans and with Presidential Escort. When Extradition personnel are available, they actively seek subjects wanted on active warrants. |
