The talks presented at the CDF Upgrade DOE review (the so-called Lehman review) on December 1997, presented a fairly complete snapshot of the current status of the hardware aspects of the CDF Upgrade project. For many CDF collaborators and well as other interested parties, this would present a good way to appreciate the current status of the upgrade, the remaining tasks and plans to complete them. The response to the review from the review committee was quite positive. This review establishes the scope of the hardware project, with reasonably complete and realistic implementation plans.
The CDF group presented a series of talks on the various subprojects,
as well as on the overall project. These talks include :
**** NOTE : These talks are currently stored as .ps.gz files in cdfsga
area /cdf/www/lehman1297 area, under topic names.
**** These files can be viewed by Netscape 4, with GSView --Note that
some files will take quite a while (minutes) to uncompress.
They apparantly can not be read by IE 4 with GSview, nor with
Netscape 2/Ghostview on the VAX workstations.
Meanwhile, if you have difficulty viewing these files, you can
just print the .ps files :
..remotely, download the .ps.gz file [using shift-click] to your
local workstation/cluster and print them there)
..you need to uncompress the file by gunzip xxx.ps.gz
..if you have access to cdfsga, just print them.
***make sure that all the pages are printed (there's been some
trouble in the pass of files not completely printed out).

These are huge files, up to 15 MB, taking up to 1/2 hour to print out, even at B0. If your bandwidth to your institution is limited, I have compressed some of the files (and partial files) in .gz--you need to gunzip locally to get back the .ps files. The files are in cdfsga /cdf/www/lehman1297 area
