The Bernalillo County Public Art Program was established in 1992 with the adoption of the Art in Public Places ordinance. The ordinance created the Arts Board, a 10 member appointed advisory board that selects artworks for public acquisition and display.

Workshops Exploring Storytelling and Art

The Bernalillo County Arts Program and 516 Arts present Storytelling & Art workshops at Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, Los Vecinos Community Center, and Los Padillas Community Center.  The workshops are being led by guest artist Michelle Otero, and culminating artwork coordinated by guest artist Chrissie Orr.  The focus of these workshops will be on each community’s relationship to land and sense of place, and documenting journey stories through storytelling, visual arts, written expression, and more.

For more information, contact Michelle Otero at 554-9701.
