Town of Belalcazar, largest community hit by lahar in Río Paez, Colombia
Photograph by R.L. Schuster on July 4, 1994

View of Belalcazar, the largest community hit by the lahar, 19 km downstream from Toez and 30 km downstream from the earthquake epicenter. The height of the flow wave had decreased (attenuated) significantly by this point (see map), and only riverside structures were destroyed. Flow arrived from upper right.
