NOAA/ESRL/GMD Radiometers (NOAARAD)
Instrument Categories: Radiometric
General Overview
The ARM Climate Research Facility is providing data in netCDF format from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/Earth System Research Laboratory, Global Monitoring Division (NOAA/ESRL GMD). These data provide surface radiation measurements from Barrow, Alaska, as part of a long-term surface solar irradiance monitoring network of globally remote sites (G-Rad). Data are available from 1976-02-18 to present.
Primary Measurements Taken
The following measurements are those considered scientifically relevant. Refer to the netCDF File Header Descriptions (Data Object Design Files) for the list of all available measurements, including those recorded for diagnostic or quality assurance purposes.
- Longwave broadband downwelling irradiance
- Longwave broadband upwelling irradiance
- Shortwave broadband diffuse downwelling irradiance
- Shortwave broadband direct downwelling irradiance
- Shortwave broadband total downwelling irradiance
- Shortwave broadband total upwelling irradiance
