Release Date: 1996
The USPSTF recognizes the importance of post-exposure chemoprevention. However, the USPSTF makes recommendations for healthy, asymptomatic individuals in the general population. Post-exposure chemoprevention is considered outside of the scope of the USPSTF because these interventions are provided to individuals who present to clinical settings with recent exposure. The USPSTF will not update its 1996 recommendation.
