Proposed action

Floating community boat slip and riprap bank stabilization

Location

Jagger Branch mile 1.0, left bank, Tennessee River mile 351.6, right bank, Guntersville Reservoir, Marshall County, Alabama

Description

The proposed work would consist of the construction of a floating covered community boat slip for the Shady Acres Subdivision on Lot No. 9 within the development. The facility would extend approximately 178 feet lakeward from the normal summer pool elevation 595.0. It would be approximately 65 feet wide and would accommodate 20 boats.

The floating structure would be constructed of pressurized treated lumber and enameled metal for siding and roof, supported by encapsulated flotation. The bank will be stabilized with riprap along 235 feet of shoreline to prevent further erosion. TVA is interested in receiving comments on the potential of the proposed action to affect the environment or historic properties, and would like to identify any other issues associated with this proposal.
