Proposed action
Permanent recreation easement

Location
Tellico Reservoir, along U. S. Highway 411, Monroe County, Tennessee

Description
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians has requested that TVA grant a permanent recreation easement for the construction of a commercial recreation resort on 40 acres of TVA land. Proposed amenities include a conference center, lodging, campground, restaurants, marina, and retail facilities.

Revenue generated from the resort will support the continued operation of the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum. This proposal is consistent with the current land use designation of Recreation as indicated in the Tellico Reservoir Land Plan. The property is located on Tellico Reservoir in Monroe County, Tennessee, within the city limits of the Town of Vonore, along U. S. Highway 411.

TVA is interested in receiving comments on the potential of the proposed action to affect the environment, and to identify other issues associated with this proposal. These comments will be used in reaching a decision concerning the proposed action.
