Who is eligible to become a member of the Credit Union?

Employees of the USDA, ERRC in Montgomery County, PA members of their immediate families, and organizations for which members are financially responsible are eligible to join.  Student employees at ERRC also are eligible to join, but with limitations on their borrowing privileges.  If you leave the facility, or the government, you may retain your membership.

How can I become a member?

To open an account just stop by the Office (Room 3010) for an application form.  It will cost you a $1.00 membership fee and a $25.00 deposit in YOUR shares.

How easy is it for me to find out my loan balance and/or my share balance?

Very easy!!  Stop by during office hours, or call ahead (215-836-5596), or email ahead (errc-errlfcu@ars.usda.gov) for a printout of the activity of your account.  NO CHARGE!!

What if I become permanently disabled and I am unable to work to pay off my loan?

The Credit Union provides you with insurance that pays off the balance of your loan should you become totally and permanently disabled.  No one likes to think about this possibility, but your Credit Union provides this service at no cost to the member.

Does the Credit Union have a Notary Public on staff?

Yes!  Office Administrator, Paula Knipe, is a Notary Public.  This convenient service is provided to members for a fee of $1.00.  Non-members can also take advantage of this service for a $2.00 fee.
