Economic and Community Systems

The programs and activities of the CSREES Economic and Community Systems (ECS) Unit provide national leadership and support for research, extension, and education to increase the prosperity of America 's communities, families, and agribusiness firms. Specifically, ECS programs assist in applying the social sciences to the issues and problems of families and consumers, farms and ranches, agricultural and other businesses, and rural communities. Its success in creating effective research, extension, and education programs often involves collaboration with universities, USDA, other federal agencies, and the private sector.
