CSREES' mission is to advance knowledge for agriculture, the environment, human health and well-being, and communities by supporting research, education, and extension programs in the Land-Grant University System and other partner organizations.
The CSREES Legislative Affairs office is responsible for all non-budget-related interactions with Congress. The office:
-
tracks congressional activity related to agricultural research, education, and extension;
-
responds to information requests from congressional staff and USDA Office of Congressional Affairs;
-
coordinates requests for congressional briefings and for analysis of proposed legislation; and
-
coordinates the implementation of newly authorized programs for CSREES.
The Legislative Affairs Web site page contains, among other information, a link to all CSREES-Related Legislation.
The CSREES Budget Office links CSREES to the federal budget process, which supports the agency's mission. Among other information, the Budget Office Web site page contains information on the FY 2008 President's Budget Proposal for CSREES.
Many CSREES funding opportunities are available to local, state, or federal government entities. Our funding opportunity sort feature allows users to find opportunities based on eligibility groups.
