News and UpdatesUNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA METEOROLOGY STUDENT AWARDED DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARSHIPKelsey Mulder, University of Oklahoma meteorology junior, has been awarded the 2009 Pam Daale Memorial Scholarship from the Central Iowa Chapter of the National Weather Association. Mulder was chosen based on her grade-point average, resume and answers to essay questions. She will accept the $1,000 scholarship at the 2009 Severe Storms and Doppler Radar Conference, scheduled April 2 through 4 in Iowa. The Pam Daale Memorial Scholarship is named after an honorary television meteorologist who died in 2004. |
About the School of Meteorology
The OU School of Meteorology is the largest in the nation, with over 320 undergraduate and 80 graduate students. It is ranked first in the nation in mesoscale and severe storms research, and is among the top seven programs overall. The School of Meteorology is housed in the National Weather Center, a facility it shares with the OU weather and climate programs and many colleagues from the Norman-based units of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
