Events Widget
Below you will find the new Recovery Month widget and instructions on how to add it to your own Web site. A widget is an online tool that can be added to a Web site that displays or shares information from various sources. Our widget is a unique way of showcasing Recovery Month community events, so more people can learn about and attend the activities. We’ve provided instructions on how to add the widget to your Web site. By using the widget, you can help promote your own and all Recovery Month community events to visitors to your site.

Adding featured events to the widgets
The code above will display the widget with a general search option by zip code. If you would like to add a featured event (or multiple featured events), such as your own activities, please follow the steps below:
1. Identify the event you would like to highlight by browsing the RecoveryMonth.gov Web site here: http://recoverymonth.gov/Community-Events.aspx
2. After you have found an event you would like to highlight, make note of its EventID number (located at the end of the title). See screenshot below.
3. Within the embed code above, enter the EventID number in the FlashVars area following the 'featuredEvents=' term. See highlighted area below:
To display multiple featured events, separate EventID numbers using the 'pipe' | character, like this: 'featuredEvents=134|109|62|129'
4.Copy the embed code. It should look like the following (with your EventID numbers inserted, instead of the example numbers):
5. Paste the embed code onto your Web site or blog
Changing what displays first on a widget
In addition to adding featured events, it’s possible to choose what is first displayed on the widget’s screen. For example, the search screen is typically the first part of the widget the viewer sees; however, you can modify it to display the featured event first.
You can replace the term ‘search’ with one of the following:
• search – this shows the “search” screen (and is the default)
• share – this shows the “share” screen
• follow – this shows the “follow” screen
• featured – this shows the “featured events” screen To do this, modify the same lines previously mentioned (with search, share, follow, or, featured) accordingly, in the area highlighted below:
