Moore Announces $3 Million in Recovery Act Funds for Mitchell Airport
(Washington, DC)— Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) today announced that Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport will receive more than $3 million in Recovery Act funds to construct a runway safety area. These funds will allow the airport to build an additional 1,000 feet of safety “overrun” space on the end of its commercial runways. Without this overrun space, the airport is in violation of the Federal Aviation Administration’s requirement of these 1,000-feet buffers.

Moore Visits Isaac Coggs Heritage Health Center in Milwaukee; Emphasizes the Importance of Primary Care Services
(Washington, DC)— Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) today visited the Isaac Coggs Heritage Health Center in Milwaukee to speak at the third annual Back to School Wellness Festival. The event, which lasted from noon until 4 p.m., included free screenings for HIV, cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure. Children’s entertainment and an expo with more than 30 community organizations were also featured.
