The Chemical Nature of Vitamin C pdf (562,801 Bytes) ocr (14,038 Bytes)
Description:
Joseph Svirbely had spent several years working on vitamin C isolation studies with C. G. King at the University of Pittsburgh. When he arrived at the Szeged laboratory as a post-doctoral fellow, Szent-Gyorgyi suggested he test "hexuronic acid" to determine if it might be vitamin C. This article is an expanded report of their initial results, which were first published in Nature April 16, 1932.
