about alm: who is alm?

Founded in 1906, American Leprosy Missions (ALM) provides care to people around the world with leprosy and with Buruli ulcer and related disabilities.

ALM is a non-denominational Christian ministry of hope and restoration for those suffering with these diseases. (Click for jobs and services opportunities.)

The ministry supports scores of projects in approximately 12 countries. Donor gifts provide training and transportation for leprosy workers, case-finding and diagnosis, physical and vocational rehabilitation, Christian encouragement, community development and much more.

ALM is also engaged in a $7million research project with Seattle-based IDRI (Infectious Disease Research Institute) to find a vaccine against leprosy.
