The southern portion of a weakening low pressure system will move slowly east across Arizona today. Lingering moisture will continue a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over parts of southwest and south-central Arizona this afternoon and evening. Strong high pressure aloft from northern Mexico will build north across the area with mostly clear, dry weather over the entire area Wednesday through Friday. It will also become hotter with high temperatures climbing to at least 110 degrees in the desert areas including Phoenix, Yuma, and the el centro/imperial area Thursday and Friday. Moisture will return with at least a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms spreading west across the area early next week.
