What's New

  • Furlough Closure: To comply with the Governor's furlough order, the California State Library will close its offices and public service desks in Sacramento and San Francisco the first three Fridays of each month, from August 2009 through June 2010. Because New Year's Day falls on a Friday, furlough days in January 2010 will be January 8, 15, and 22. Check out the complete list of furlough Fridays through June 2010.

  • The Stanley Mosk Library & Courts Building is closed for renovation. A full-service information center for Information Services, Government Publications, and Witkin State Law Library is available inside the Braille & Talking Book Library, 900 N Street, Room 100. Online resources and frequently-used print resources are readily available at this service center, but other print materials may need to be paged from an offsite storage facility.
