ODP Information Bulletin

Many states and local jurisdictions are developing, implementing, and executing weapons of mass destruction (WMD) terrorism
preparedness programs, or updating existing programs, as a result of the Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) needs assessment
and strategy development process. In so doing, ODP recognizes that many states and local jurisdictions have developed and
implemented innovative approaches to WMD terrorism preparedness. The attached bulletin highlights one such program in the State
of New York.
This bulletin is the second to be published in a series we are calling the State and Local Approaches Program. The purpose of this
program is to document innovative practices, projects, programs, approaches, methods or techniques that greatly enhance the WMD
preparedness of a state or local jurisdiction and can be replicated in other jurisdictions. The goals of the program are:
ODP does not evaluate the initiatives highlighted in State and Local Approaches bulletins, and the sharing of information should
not be interpreted as an endorsement by ODP. In addition, instructions for submitting projects for inclusion in a State and Local Approaches
