Michigan's Wildlife Action Plan (WAP)
The goal of Michigan's Wildlife Action Plan is to provide a strategic framework and set of management tools that will enable our state's conservation partners to implement a long-term holistic conservation approach for all aquatic and terrestrial wildlife species.

Maintenance of ecological processes rather than management for individual species may be the most effective way of using limited resources to benefit the greatest number of species. Individual wildlife species, however, cannot be completely ignored. The action plan was developed upon this premise.
