Overview

The purpose of this alliance was to provide Colorado employers and employees, including Spanish-speaking workers, with information, guidance, and access to training resources. Through the Alliance, the organizations will work to improve health and safety in the workplace, especially in helping industrial and construction contractors to reduce injuries and illnesses related to work performed on multi-employer worksites.

    • (1/3/05) OSHA CAS previewed Basic Orientation Plus (BOP) contractor safety training course at CSA.
    • (1/05) CSA began offering regular BOP training each Friday at CSA
    • (1/11/05) CSA and OSHA presented on OSHA Multi-Employer Worksite policy and BOP for Pueblo Safety and Health Promotion council.
    • (1/24/05) CSA presented on BOP course to compliance officers at DAO.
    • (2/28/05) CSA presented on BOP course to compliance officers at EAO.
    • (5/19/05) CSA and OSHA presented on OSHA Multi-Employer Worksite policy and BOP for Region VIII VPPPA conference.
    • (7/19/05) CSA and OSHA presented on OSHA Multi-Employer Worksite policy and BOP for Colorado Rural Electric Association (CREA).
    • (10/12/05) CSA and OSHA presented on OSHA Multi-Employer Worksite policy and BOP for Northern Colorado ASSE chapter.

III. Results
  • 170 individuals trained on OSHA Multi-Employer Worksite policy and BOP program.
  • CSA and Pueblo Community College (PCC) formed a partnership to deliver BOP training at PCC.
  • 1269 individuals (approx. 100 spanish-speaking) BOP trained and certified.

IV. Upcoming Milestones

OSHA will continue to work with CSA to provide information to the regulated community on OSHA’s Multi-Employer Worksite policy and the BOP program.

CSA will continue to offer regular, weekly BOP training at CSA and will continue to work to form partnerships with employers and employer groups to provide additional venues around the State at which to deliver BOP training.
