Crime and the Nation's Households, 2002
Presents findings for the crimes measured by NCVS, including vandalism and intimate partner violence. Data are presented by region, by urban, suburban or rural location and by household size. Overall trends since 1994 are also included.
Highlights include the following:
- In 2002 a violent crime against a person age 12 or older occurred in 3% of U.S. households.
- In both 1994 and 2002, less than 1% of households included a member victimized by an intimate partner.
- About 5% of households were vandalized at least once during 2002.
