Senator Murray speaks out at a recent Washington D.C. press conference for improvements in care for women veterans at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Joining Senator Murray are Staff Sgt. Ranie Ruthig (left) and Major Anastasia Breslow, who were part of a group of women soldiers in Iraq whose combat experiences are featured in a documentery film titled “Lioness.” Senator Murray has introduced legislation in the Senate to prepare the VA for the influx of women veterans who will be seeking care there in the coming years.
