The National Data Analysis System
|
|
The National Data Analysis System (NDAS) is a part of CWLA's National Center for Research, Data, and Technology. NDAS puts child welfare data and statistics at the fingertips of Internet users and promotes discussion around state and federal data issues in an effort to promote effective integration of research, policy, and practice.
|
|
The most comprehensive collection of child welfare data available, NDAS is a
- tool that organizes large amounts of information,
- resource to learn how states collect data, and
- resource to complement other sources of data, such as longitudinal cohort data.
NDAS allows Internet users to create customized tables and graphs and provides information and links necessary to understand the data. NDAS
- integrates national child welfare data from many sources, presenting data in customized tables and graphs;
- provides access to data via a point-and-click website interface;
- displays data sources and explanatory notes, and provides descriptive text with each predefined table and graph;
- downloads any data table for more in-depth analysis;
- features general notes on each state, with important information necessary to understand and interpret each individual state's data;
- links to child welfare agency websites, state statutes, and other sources of child welfare data and information available on the web; and
- provides an ongoing forum for developing uniform data standards in the child welfare field.
