- The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) reports its activities, as required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA), to carry out, for each calendar year, a comprehensive statistical review and analysis of the incidence and effects of prison rape. PREA Data Collection Activities, 2009
- During 2007, about 1 in 5 large law enforcement agencies had a specialized aviation unit operating at least one fixed-wing plane or helicopter. Aviation Units in Large Law Enforcement Agencies, 2007
- From July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007, preliminary data show that among youth ages 5–18,
there were 35 school-associated violent deaths
(27 homicides
