Office of the Deputy Secretary (DS)

On November 15, 2007, Dr. Tevi David Troy was sworn in as Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). As Deputy Secretary, he assists the Secretary in the management one of the largest civilian departments in the federal government, with more than 67,000 employees and a budget that accounts for almost one out of every four federal dollars. Dr. Troy had previously served at the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy.
