U.S. Condemns Baghdad Bombings

"The United States strongly condemns this morning’s coordinated attack against the institutions of government in Baghdad resulting in the deaths of dozens of people and the wounding of several hundred others. Iraq Bombings
Secretary Clinton (Aug. 17): "The United States joins leaders of all communities in Iraq in condemning the bombings that have taken place over the past several weeks in various places across Iraq. U.S. Relationship With Iraq Changing
Assistant Secretary Crowley (Aug. 13):
"Well, I mean, we have – we, obviously, have a relationship with Iraq. It is moving towards – well, from a military-dominant relationship toward a partnership and dialogue with Iraq on a variety of issues. Human rights is one of them. We have understandings with Iraq about how the people in this camp will be treated. We are continuing to pay attention to that. U.S. Forces Providing Medical Assistance at Camp Ashraf
Spokesman Kelly (July 30):
"The Government of Iraq did agree to allow U.S. forces to provide medical assistance to those who were injured in Camp Ashraf. And there is, right now, a U.S. medical team there performing this assistance. We’re providing medical care and treatment, medical supplies, and assessing any kind of follow-on treatment or support that these residents might require." -Full Text
