Introduction
As the nation’s leading public health agency, CDC is proud to
be one of the first HHS agencies to implement the tobacco-free
campus policy. All tobacco products are harmful to health, and
the new policy expands the pre-existing smoke-free policy to
prohibit the use of all tobacco products on property owned by or
under full control of CDC and not undergoing labor agreement
renegotiations.
This policy, intended to promote employee health and contribute to a healthier workforce, is the latest demonstration of CDC’s commitment to protecting people’s health and safety by making its own worksite a place where healthful choices are easy choices.
