Health & Safety
Industrial Hygienists - One of two civilian positions on the team. The IH provides advice and direction on health hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control during emergency response to oil and hazardous materials incidents. The IH is assigned as the unit Safety and Occupational Health Coordinator (SOHC), and is the Respiratory Protection Program Coordinator. The IH is also the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), and works closely with the HS on the Occupational Medical Surveillance and Evaluation (OMSEP) as the Program Coordinator. The Industrial Hygienist at the Atlantic Strike team is also a fully qualified Response Officer.
