Unemployment Insurance claimants who had exhausted their Federal Emergency Unemployment Compensation benefits and were originally ineligible for the State Extended Benefits program due to their Benefit Year Ending (BYE) date may now qualify for State Extended Benefits.
The window of eligibility for State Extended Benefits has temporarily expanded from a BYE of July 12, 2008 to a BYE of May 5, 2007.
All potential claimants will be notified by mail of the change in eligibility. Payments are retroactive from February 22, 2009. For more information, call the State Extended Benefits information line at (401) 243-9107.
