Spanish table at the cafeteria

"Hola y Bienvenidos"

The "Spanish-Speaking Table" activities at the Cafeteria (ORNL Conference Center, Bldg 5200) will take place on selected dates from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Anyone interested in practicing their conversational Spanish skills is welcome to join in.

Look for tables with table signs.

The next social dinner is planned for Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Pelancho's Mexican Restaurant (1516 Downtown West Blvd., Knoxville, TN, 37919, 865-694-9060).  We would like to meet at the restaurant around 6:30 p.m. so we can start ordering.  Please let Roxanne Raschke (raschkera@ornl.gov) know by Wednesday, July 16, 2008 if you would be interested in participating so she can call in our reservations.   For those who are bringing children, please indicate how many high chairs are needed.

Brown-Bag Seminar

On Thursday, May 22 at 11:30 a.m., the Hispanic/Latino American Committee and the Multicultural Friendship Club will present a brown-bag seminar, "El Salvador: Ghosts of El Mozote." The speaker will be Jamison Daniel of the Center for Computational Sciences. Bring your lunch to the Weinberg Auditorium, Bldg 4500N. Beverages and cookies will be served.
