97 Smuggled Aliens Found in Refrigerated Tractor Trailer Truck

July 30, 2009 (Nogales, Ariz.) - Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is investigating the stop of a refrigerated tractor trailer truck outside of Nogales, Ariz., carrying 97 smuggled aliens from Mexico and Guatemala. The driver was charged in federal court with conspiracy to transport illegal aliens for profit. More at ICE.gov

CBP Border Patrol Agents Arrest 20 Mexican Nationals

July 17, 2009 (Carlsbad, Calif.) - U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended 20 Mexican nationals who illegally entered the country aboard a panga boat that landed ashore at South Ponto Beach in Carlsbad. After the arrest, the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air Interdiction agents and Marine personne spotted the southbound boat as it traveled into Mexican waters. Coast Guard Repatriates 11 Dominicans

July 14, 2009 (San Juan, P.R.) - The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Matinicus repatriated 11 Dominican migrants to La Romana, Dominican Republic, following an at-sea interdiction by the Coast Guard Cutter Key Largo. Two other Dominican males have been detained. The 13 Dominican migrants were traveling illegally to Puerto Rico from the Dominican Republic. More at USCG.mil

CBP Agents Thwart 3 Smuggling Schemes, Arrest Over 40

June 18, 2009 (San Diego) - Border Patrol agents stopped three smuggling attempts to get illegal immigrants into the country, arresting over 40 illegal aliens from various countries. Agents stopped a Ford Explorer with 12 illegal immigrants stacked on top of each other, nabbed 22 illegal aliens hiding in the rocky terrain near a road, and arrested 11 illegal aliens dropped off by boat at Torrey Pines State Beach. Coast Guard Interdicts, Repatriates 14 Cuban Migrants

June 14, 2009 (Miami) - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Cormorant repatriated 14 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba. The migrants were interdicted during two separate cases. More at USCG.mil

Coast Guard Repatriates 17 to Dominican Republic

June 9, 2009 (San Juan, P.R.) - The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Key Largo repatriated 13 Dominicans, three Haitians and one Cuban to La Romana, Dominican Republic, following an at-sea interdiction by Caribbean Border Interagency Group law enforcement authorities. Six other Dominican men were detained for prosecution for attempting to enter illegally into the United States or a  U.S. territory on at least two separate occasions. More at USCG.mil

CBP Apprehends 22 on California Beach

June 9, 2009 (Del Mar, Calif.) - Nineteen illegal immigrants from Mexico were apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents on the beach of Del Mar in an area known as Dog Beach. The U.S. Coast Guard later stopped a panga boat and took the three occupants into custody after determining that they were Mexican nationals in the country illegally and allegedly involved with smuggling the 19 illegal aliens. The 22 illegal aliens, 17 males and 5 females, are currently in federal custody pending further investigation. More at CBP.gov

CBP Agents Find 73 Migrants, Arrest Smuggler

June 8, 2009 (Campo, Calif.) - Border Patrol agents discovered 73 Mexican nationals  inside a tractor-trailer at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Pine Valley. The driver, a Mexican national, was arrested and is currently in federal custody awaiting prosecution for alien smuggling. More at CBP.gov

CBP Officers Apprehend Illegal Aliens Hiding in Rail Car

June 2, 2009 (Blaine, Wash.) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted a Mexican and a Guatemalan national on a train. The stowaways were attempting to enter the U.S. from Canada illegally when the freight car they were in passed through a CBP X-ray imaging station, where an officer spotted their outlines. Coast Guard Repatriates 35 Haitian Migrants

May 29, 2009 (Miami) - The Coast Guard Cutter Reliance repatriated 35 Haitian migrants to Cap Haitien, Haiti, after a dangerously overloaded vessel with more than 100 Haitian migrants aboard was sighted by a Coast Guard aircraft and interdicted by the Coast Guard Cutters Key Biscayne and Venturous.
