    This table consists of census counts for the years 2000, 1990, 1980 and 1970.

    2000 Census Counts for Alaska Natives [PDF-232KB]
    The population counts in this report were determined by merging three Census 2000 Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171) base files for Alaska. They were machine-readable data files published by the U.S. Census Bureau in March 2001 labeled: AK00001, AK00002, and AKGEO. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used to merge files and count population at the community level.
